Gas Prices Drop In Milwaukee, Waukesha, Falls 16 Cents Across State
Dipping into the strategic reserves took the pressure off drivers across America, including in Wisconsin, Triple A said.

WISCONSIN — Gas prices in the Milwaukee-Waukesha metro have dropped more than 10 cents on Tuesday since fuel costs in the Badger State peaked at $4 in March, data from Triple A showed.
The average price for a gallon of regular gas in Waukesha County was $3.83 and the average price in Milwaukee County was $3.92 on Tuesday, Triple A data showed. Gas prices dropped to $3.84 across Wisconsin — that's 16 cents lower than the $4 average that hovered over the Badger State in March.
It's not a deep plunge from when state prices broke $4 on March 9 as Fox 6 Milwaukee reported, it could take tension off of some drivers in southeast Wisconsin.

Here are Triple A's gas prices in southeast Wisconsin cities.
- Milwaukee-Waukesha Metro: $3.89
- Racine: $3.88
- Kenosha County: $3.93
Tapping into the country's strategic reserve helped lower the cost of global oil and in turn, stem rising fuel prices, Triple A said in a statement.

President Joe Biden announced that 180 million barrels from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve would ease the upward push of oil prices due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
National gas prices reached record-breaking peaks before that — fuel was a whopping $4.10 per gallon on March 7, GasBuddy said in a statement. The last record before that was in 2008, just ahead of the U.S. Great Recession and the housing crisis.
