MILWAUKEE, WI β€” A 25-year-old man who was wanted for crimes in both Ohio and Alabama shot and killed himself during a four-hour standoff with police in Milwaukee, officials confirmed.

According to police, Gary Eubanks was wanted in Daphne, Alabama after he reportedly robbed a Microtel Inn hotel on Oct. 21. Then, two days later on Oct. 23, authorities in Cincinnati found that his accomplice in that robbery, Baylee Wall, was found dead. Authorities say Eubanks and Wall had just started a relationship. A Cincinnati woman who let the couple stay at her apartment, told Local 12 that Eubanks was violent with her. "If I had any idea she was going to be murdered two weeks later, I would have never let her out of my sight,” Erin Vinson said in the report.

According to information released by Milwaukee police, Eubanks was staying inside a home on the 1200 block of N. 46th Street Wednesday. Police said officers saw Eubanks armed with a gun inside the house.

After several hours of negotiations and orders for Eubanks to come out of the house, SWAT team members were getting ready to enter the house to arrest him. According to police, as officers prepared to enter the house, they heard a single gunshot from inside.

When officers went in, they found Eubanks on the floor, dead from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
