Milwaukee County's 'Operation Drive Sober' Nets 12 Alleged Drunken Drivers

The weekend's push yielded a dozen DUI arrests with an average breathalyzer reading of .12.

Milwaukee, WI – Milwaukee County Sheriff David A. Clarke Jr. recently ordered a continued, aggressive crackdown on drunken drivers in an effort to rid the local freeway system of the danger they pose to themselves and others.

This past weekend’s Operation Drive Sober initiative kicked off at 4 p.m. on Friday and concluded at 6 a.m. on Sunday. The push yielded a dozen DUI arrests with an average breathalyzer reading of .12, according to a county news release.

Though the county has seen 1,704 repeat DUI offenders since January 2010, officials said that all 12 of the weekend's suspects were first-time offenders. They included:

  • Evan Strain, 26, of Fredonia;
  • Nicholas Ercklentz, 45, of Green Lake;
  • Suleim Pacheco, 27, of Cudahy;
  • Jonathan Pinto, 29, of San Francisco;
  • Izarius Jones, 20, of Racine;
  • George Grant, 22, of Racine;
  • and Milwaukee residents: Terrence Foster, 42; Myangela West, 26; Guy Clough, 57; Jamie Hadnot, 31; Tony Clay, 37; and Alonzo Harris, 42.
