Milwaukee Police Officer Wounded In Accidental Shooting: Police
Milwaukee police say an officer was shot and wounded by a fellow officer as the two struggled to make an arrest late Tuesday.

MILWAUKEE, WI — A Milwaukee police officer is recovering Wednesday after he was shot and wounded by a fellow officer late Tuesday during the arrest of a shooting suspect, police say.
Milwaukee police say officers were sent to N. 9th and Hadley streets just after 10 p.m. Tuesday on a report that a man wanted in a shooting incident earlier in the day was driving in the area.
According to police, officers tried pulling the suspect's vehicle over, but the driver sped away, leading to a police pursuit.

Milwaukee police said the suspect's car broke down near N. 9th and W. Hadley Streets. The suspect ran from the vehicle.
According to police, officers chased the man down and arrested him on W. Garfield Ave.

During the course of the arrest, Milwaukee police said the man started struggling with officers, who were trying to put him in the back of a squad car.
According to police, one of the officers who was struggling with the man had his gun go off by accident, hitting his fellow officer. The officer was transported to the hospital for treatment, police said.
