New High-Rise Apartments Begin Construction In Milwaukee's Third Ward
Developers recently held a groundbreaking ceremony for a 31-story apartment building planned in Milwaukee's Third Ward.

MILWAUKEE, WI — Construction has begun on a new 31-story building in Milwaukee's Third Ward with plans to bring over 300 apartments alongside ground-level retail, developers at Hines announced Monday.
It will be the first multi-family high-rise in its neighborhood, developers said, and when complete, one of the tallest buildings in Wisconsin. Located at 333 Water Street, the project will be surrounded by an existing food and entertainment scene and nearby retail, Hines said, not to mention the Milwaukee Public Market.
The building is expected to create 333 new luxury rental units alongside over 22,000 feet of indoor and outdoor amenities.

“The Historic Third Ward is the preeminent urban dining, shopping, and entertainment district in Milwaukee, and 333 North Water Street will be at the center of this dynamic live-work-play neighborhood,” said Tom D’Arcy in a news release, senior managing director at Hines. “This site is a prominent gateway to the neighborhood, and we are delivering a highly-anticipated, market-leading rental product that will further enhance the area.”
The units will be finished with floor-to-ceiling windows, quartz counters, a fitness center, a lounge, pool, cabanas and more. Developers also touted the harder-to-get luxuries the project will feature, such as the sweeping views of Lake Michigan and the Milwaukee River.

“The 333 N. Water Street development will be a significant addition to the built environment of Downtown and the Historic Third Ward,” said District 4 Alderman Robert Bauman in a news release. “It represents a vote of confidence by a major national development firm in the economic fundamentals of Milwaukee. The project will create hundreds of union construction jobs and will add millions of dollars to the city’s tax base which funds basic services across the entire city.”
The developer, Hines, said it has been active in Milwaukee for over a decade with recent projects including Northwestern Mutual's recent downtown headquarters and a residential high-rise called 7Seventy7.
