Rain In Greater Milwaukee Tuesday Could Mix With Snow Into The Week
The National Weather Service forecast up to two inches of rainfall in parts of southeastern Wisconsin beginning Tuesday evening.
WISCONSIN — A cross-country storm making its way into Wisconsin could bring between 1-2 inches of rainfall in parts of southeastern Wisconsin beginning Tuesday night and into the week, according to the National Weather Service.
The rainfall could mix with snow by Wednesday or Thursday, according to national forecasters. The potential for rain comes as states further west are expecting traffic-stifling ice and snow from the storm, according to an AccuWeather report. Later into the week, portions of Wisconsin further north are forecasted to get snow, with flurries possible further south as well, the report noted.
The storm's wintry precipitation will spread over much of the Upper Great Lakes late Tuesday and then into the Northeast late Wednesday, according to the NWS.

"Warm air flowing northward ahead of the system will make the movement of the rain/snow line
hard to pin down over the Great Lakes, and subsequently how long snow will fall and how high the totals may be," the NWS noted. "Currently, the most confidence for higher snow totals is for northern Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan where temperatures should remain colder closer to the track of the surface cyclone and 4-8 inches, locally higher, will be possible."
