MILWAUKEE, WI — Interstates across the Milwaukee area faced closures on Wednesday morning amid a wrong-way crash and two reports of shootings, according to the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office.

Impacted highways included I-41, I-43 and I-94, the sheriff's office said. First, an SUV crashed head-on into a semi-truck on I-41 near the Capitol Drive off-ramp, authorities said.

The SUV driver was seriously injured but the passenger was breathing and conscious, the sheriff's office said in a tweet. Then within hours of the crash, a shooting was reported on Interstate 94 near 68th Street, forcing the highway to close so deputies could canvass for evidence.
