WI Weather: Heat To Stick Around Into Weekend With Possible Storms

The heat will likely stick around into Saturday as a possibility of showers and storms arises through the weekend in the Milwaukee area.

MILWAUKEE, WI — The heat will stick around the Milwaukee area into Saturday afternoon amid a possibility of showers and storms, possibly arriving as early as Friday night, according to the National Weather Service.

Thunderstorms are possible Friday night into Saturday morning, with the best chances along the Wisconsin and Illinois border, according to the NWS. Severe wind and hail may be possible with the storms. Saturday is going to be a hot one. Heat indices will be between 95 and 100.

Severe thunderstorms appear likely late Saturday afternoon, with a possibility of strong winds, large hail, tornadoes and heavy rain, according to the NWS. The risk of showers and thunderstorms will linger into the week beyond.

The likelihood of thunderstorms may increase into the evening and night, NWS said. Counties at risk include Marquette, Green Lake, Fond du Lac, Sheboygan, Sauk, Columbia, Dodge, Washington, Ozaukee, Iowa, Dane, Jefferson, Waukesha, Milwaukee, Lafayette, Green, Rock, Walworth, Racine and Kenosha.

Friday night: Chance of showers at 30 percent between midnight and 1 a.m. with partly cloudy skies.

Saturday: Sunny and hot with a high near 90. Temperatures could feel as high as 96. Into the evening and Sunday morning, showers and thunderstorms are likely. The chance of precipitation is 80 percent with new rainfall up to an inch possible that night.

Sunday: Showers and a thunderstorm likely before 7 a.m., then possibly into the afternoon. Partly sunny with a high around 84. The chance of precipitation is 60 percent.
