Wisconsin Has 21 Senior Living Communities On U.S. News ‘Best’ List

Over 20 communities in Wisconsin "excelled" in making residents feel safe, cared for and satisfied, the latest U.S. News ranking said.

WISCONSIN — U.S. News and World Report released its Best Senior Living ratings on Thursday for communities across Wisconsin that are worthy of older Americans' consideration as they plan for aging and increased medical needs.

For its second year now, the report evaluates nearly 4,000 U.S. communities on independent living, assisted living, memory care and continuing care retirement. The places that made the cut “excel in making residents feel safe, well cared for and highly satisfied by the services provided,” Zach Adams, senior health data engineer at U.S. News, said in a news release.

In Wisconsin, U.S. News evaluated 60 senior living communities and recognized 21 of them, including these ones in southeast Wisconsin:

  • Brookdale Brookfield on Capitol Drive.
  • Brookdale Sussex.
  • New Perspective Waukesha.
  • Cedar Ridge Retirement Community West Bend.
  • The Waterford at Hartford.
  • The Waterford at West Bend.
  • Village Homes in West Bend.

U.S. News offers a community finder tool that includes detailed profiles on each of the facilities that participated in the 2022 survey.

To be included, retirement communities had to participate in a six-month consumer-satisfaction survey and had to meet certain U.S. News eligibility criteria. The 4,000 that met the criteria represent only a fraction of the tens of thousands of such licensed senior living communities and facilities nationwide.

The ratings show 17 senior living companies with more than 20 participating retirement communities received awards for more than half of them.
