Passengers Flee After Accident; Four Injured
A truck was found abandoned in the 3600 block of E. O'Brien Road late Wednesday night. Two of the occupants received citations.

Police had to track down six occupants of a truck that crashed in the 3500 block of E. O'Brien Road Wednesday night and was found abandoned a block away.
According to the logbook:
Residents in the neighborhood saw the truck going eastbound on O'Brien about 11:30 p.m. when it struck a culvert on the north side of the road, went airborne and hit a pine tree.

The vehicle continued traveling east before it was abandoned in the 3600 block.
Officers found one of the vehicle occupants near Chicago and Oakwood roads. Three occupants were located at Aurora St. Luke's South Shore. Another returned to the scene, while the final occupant was found on Maple Street.

Their ages ranged from 16 to 20.
Of the three people in the hospital, their injuries included lacerations to an ankle, knee and elbow. One had a bruise on his left eye.
A 20-year-old man was found with a pipe and cited for drug paraphernalia possession. He suffered minor scratches on his face. Police believe he was the driver of the truck after receiving hearing conflicting stories.
A 17-year-old occupant, meanwhile, was cited for underage drinking.
A few hours earlier, police got a call about a silver truck tearing up the grass at Haas Park, 4215 E. Elm Road. Officers later discovered it was the same truck involved in the accident on O'Brien Road.
