3 Arrested In Connection With Waukesha Drive-By Shooting

Waukesha police responded to a report of bullet holes and spent bullet casings on Sunday.

WAUKESHA, WI — Police arrested three people Thursday in connection with a drive-by shooting early Sunday in Waukesha.

According to police, a fight broke out between two groups of people shortly before the shooting. Waukesha Police Capt. Dan Baumann told Patch that after the fight, one of the groups retaliated against the other by shooting at a house where they believed opposing group members lived.

A resident called police after finding bullet holes located outside and inside a home in the 100 block of South Grandview Boulevard, Baumann said.

Police didn't identify the people arrested, but said the first will face charges of:

  • First-degree recklessly endangering safety
  • Carrying a concealed weapon
  • Carrying a handgun where alcohol is sold
  • Armed with a firearm while intoxicated
  • Possession of cocaine
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Possession of THC

The second person arrested will face charges of first-degree recklessly endangering safety, while the third person was arrested on a parole violation, Baumann said. All charges have been referred to the Waukesha County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.

Another person was arrested for substantial battery during the fight, Baumann said.

Officers questioned nearby residents and asked them to check their home cameras.

Neighbors told police they heard what sounded like several gunshots at 2:30 a.m. A resident reported hearing four to five pops of gunfire and noticed a light-colored car with loud exhaust slowing or stopping in front of the house, the police log said.
