Can America's Public Schools and Colleges be Fixed?
Join us for this free event on April 10th to hear the perspectives from former US Secretaries of Education, Arne Duncan & Margaret Spellings

UWM at Waukesha is honored to host a special in-person presentation by former U.S. Secretaries of Education Arne Duncan (Obama administration) and Margaret Spellings (G.W. Bush administration), on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at 7 pm, in its gorgeous Lunt-Fontanne Theatre at 1500 N. University Drive, Waukesha. The pair will be addressing the burning question of “Can America’s Public Schools and Colleges Be Fixed?” which is of great local as well as national interest.
We want to hear your concerns and questions! They will be in dialogue with one another—and with the audience—on the timely subject in the midst of headlines about the issues of American education as well as the future of the Department of Education.
The event is free and open to the public, and free parking is also provided. Registration is requested. Please RSVP on or before Tuesday, April 1 to help us prepare for the crowd and also issue any communications for changes due to unforeseeable conditions. RSVP here for the in-person presentation (7:00 pm - 8:00 pm). This event is sponsored by the Tommy G. Thompson Center on Public Leadership.
