WAUKESHA, Wis. - As Chosen marks a decade of serving foster, adoptive, and kinship families across southeastern Wisconsin, the nonprofit ministry is launching an exciting new initiative: the Mobile Family Closet.

Founded in 2015, Chosen exists to Foster Forever Familiesby living out the Gospel so that every child can have a safe and loving home. From humble, volunteer-led beginnings, Chosen has become a trusted source of tangible, emotional, and spiritual support for families navigating foster care and adoption.

One of Chosen's most impactful programs is the Family Closet, a free resource center in Waukesha that provides essentials like clothing, diapers, baby gear, toiletries, school supplies, toys, and special needs equipment to foster, kinship, and adoptive families. Since opening in 2015, the Closet has distributed over 75,000 items to more than 1,750 children from 700 families across 13 counties.

However, many families—due to distance, lack of transportation, or special circumstances—can't make it to Waukesha. To close this gap, Chosen is launching the Mobile Family Closet, a capital project that will fund the purchase and customization of a fully equipped outreach vehicle. Scheduled to launch in late 2025, the Mobile Closet will bring essential supplies directly to families at community events, churches, and foster care gatherings throughout the region, particularly in underserved areas like Milwaukee County."

The Mobile Family Closet will help us reach families who need us most but can't access our Waukesha location," said Amalie Bowling, Chosen's Co-Founder and Director of Programs and Impact. "More than 4,000 foster children live within 100 miles of our office. This project is a practical and powerful way to share the love of Jesus while supporting those who open their homes and hearts to vulnerable children."
