Waukesha County pantry receives multimillion donation from Waukesha natives (spectrumnews1.com) — A Waukesha County food pantry just received a transformative $3.5 million gift from local business founders Dick and Karen Vaughn, longtime supporters of the organization. Most of the money will help secure a larger, permanent facility in Waukesha County, with the rest creating an endowment to keep shelves stocked as demand for food assistance has surged more than 140% since 2021.

Toddler hurt at Waukesha preschool, woman sentenced to probation (fox6now.com) — A former worker at a Waukesha preschool has been sentenced to one year of probation after pleading no contest to misdemeanor child neglect tied to a 2024 injury involving a toddler at Cadence Academy of Waukesha. The win helps North/South bounce back from a tough loss to Hamilton and extends East’s long search for its first victory in more than two seasons.
   

4. ‘Miss Avalon' still charms the place she once served (gmtoday.com) — A beloved Avalon Square resident known as “Miss Avalon” is preparing to celebrate her 100th birthday in Waukesha, where she once worked at the former Avalon Hotel and later chose to retire. Her life story stretches from wartime Europe to building a home on Tenney Avenue, raising a family, and becoming a cherished, generous presence in the Avalon community.
