Public Involvement Meeting To Be Held For Waukesha County Project

WAUKESHA COUNTY, WI— A public involvement meeting to discuss a pavement replacement project is scheduled from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on July 7 at 3805 Casper Dr., according to a news release.

The meeting will be held in an open house format and attendees will be required to follow current CDC guidance and wear a face mask if they have not been vaccinated. Design staff will be on hand to answer questions.

The Waukesha County Department of Public Works is in the design phase for the pavement replacement of 1.4-miles of County 0 (Moorland Road) to improve ride quality and safety along the corridor.

Improvements will include:

• Replacing the existing concrete pavement
• Reconfiguring intersections to improve safety
• Replacing traffic signals
• Minor grading
• Storm water improvements.

The first public involvement meeting was held virtually on Nov. 11. Three alternatives were presented at the meeting that accommodated a sidewalk within the Waukesha County ultimate right-of-way plan width of 130'. A city decision was made that a sidewalk will not be part of the recommended improvement.

The median curb lines will more inward 2' to accommodate parking and bicycles within the revised pavement footprint. The outside curb line will generally be replaced in the same location that it exists today

Waukesha County is committed to keeping the roadway open for travel in both directions during construction on both Moorland Road and National Avenue, the release said.

Construction is currently planned for 2023.
