West Side Pump Station Consolidation: Waukesha Project Update

The consolidation project is taking four existing sanitary pump stations and putting them into one.

WAUKESHA, WI— The consolidation project of four existing sanitary pump stations into one on the west side of the city in the vicinity of Les Paul Pkwy (US 318) and Madison St. is moving along.

This project includes the following work, according to the city's website:

  • Upgrading the existing pump station on Madison Street including a new control building with backup generator.
  • Installing a new gravity sewer and force main to the east of the Madison Street pump station to connect to the sewers on Cone View Drive.
  • Line the existing force main along Cone View Drive and South Comanche Lane.
  • Install a new gravity sewer to the north of Madison Street along Pebble Creek to the existing sewer north of the Meadowbrook Marketplace complex.
  • Decommission the Cone View pump station, Fiddlers Creek pump station, and Summit Ave pump station.

  • The right shoulder of southbound Les Paul Pkwy (US 318) is closed south of Madison Street.
  • The right shoulder of northbound Les Paul Pkwy (US 318) is closed south of Madison Street.
  • The right shoulder of northbound Les Paul Pkwy (US 318) is closed north of Summit Ave.
  • The parking lane along the south side of Madison Street is closed between Fiddlers Creek Drive and Les Paul Pkwy
  • The right lane and shoulder of westbound Summit Ave (US 18) is closed west of Les Paul Parkway.

Future work:

  • The contractor will continue the upgrades at the Madison St Pump Station.
  • The contractor will continue working on the landscaping and pavement restorations.
  • The bypass pumping equipment will be removed from the Madison Street pump station site.
  • The contractor will be begin completing the final connections to transfer all the flow to the Madison Street pump station.
  • The contractor will start decommissioning the pump stations that have been taken off line.
