$7,500 Hiring Bonus To Become An Officer In Wauwatosa

WAUWATOSA, WI—The Wauwatosa Police Department added a $7,500 incentive to become a police officer.

The department is looking to recruit police officers to serve in the community after eight retirements including Chief Barry Weber in 2021.

There have been another two retirements so far in 2022, according to Abby Pavlik, public information officer told Patch.

"On April 1, 2021, we began providing external protective services on the Milwaukee Regional Medical Campus. The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office continues to provide protective services in the emergency departments. We are hiring to fill our current vacancies as well as to fulfill our role on campus," Pavlik said.

Benefits also includes school reimbursement of $5,000 for applicants that are hired and previously paid for their academy training (a limited time initiative), free health clinic services for you and your family, 80-200 hours of annual vacation, and retirement benefits.
