COVID-19: Cases In Wauwatosa Schools

Here's a snapshot of COVID-19 cases in the School District of Wauwatosa.

WAUWATOSA, WI —The School District of Wauwatosa has recorded 73 COVID-19 cases among its student body as of Monday morning, according to the district's COVID-19 dashboard.

There are 51 positive cases among students. Some 44 students are in self-quarantine, district data showed. There are 22 positive cases among staff and no staff members are in self-quarantine.

The school board voted in December to move high schools to mitigation level 2, which would make masks optional to those vaccinated.

However, due to the infection rate and out of caution, the district announced all high school students and staff in the Wauwatosa School District returned to school on Monday to level 3.

The level in which all schools have operated for the school year thus far, which dictates that masks are required for all individuals inside district buildings, the district said.

The district will re-evaluate the internal infection rate of the two high schools, middle schools and elementary schools on Jan. 17.
