How do you know your graduating student nominee?

I am a volunteer mentor for the Admissions Department of the United States Naval Academy. I help students throughout the state pursue an appointment to the #1 Public College and #1 Liberal Arts College in the country.

Tell us why they deserve to be nominated!

Nick started working on his appointment to the Naval Academy in his Sophomore year. At the same time as taking Advanced Placement and Honors classes his Junior and Senior years in high school, he started and still operates a yard maintenance and snow removal business. The business is incorporated as an LLC and he has hired and supervised over 15 of his classmates in his business. This business has enabled him to buy his own truck and equipment for the business.

He is also an outstanding athlete. Even though he sustained an injury that essentially eliminated his Sophomore year in power lifting, he worked diligently during the summer between sophomore and junior year, and has finished as the outstanding power lifter at his high school.

Additionally, he is the first student from Wauwatosa East High School to receive an appointment to the United States Naval Academy in the past 22 years. Finally, he is only the sixth student from any Wauwatosa school to receive an appointment in the last 25 years.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about your graduating student nominee?

Nick understands practices focus, discipline and leadership every single day of the year.

Congratulations on your achievements, and all of our best wishes to you in the future, Nick!
