The meeting will be held at 200 N. Center, 2nd Floor Courtroom at 5:30 pm and is open to the public.

January 18, 2021

Natrona County Parks Department has been working on a vehicular wayfinding sign program with a consultant, RDG, since April 2021. A public open house was held in June to make the public aware and receive comment. In June RDG was in Casper and visited each proposed sign location with Parks staff.

We'd like your input. The purpose of your comments is to compile recommendations to present to the Parks Board, RDG, and Parks Staff on 1/27/2022 at a Special Parks Board Meeting. The meeting will be held at 200 N. Center, 2nd Floor Courtroom at 5:30 pm and is open to the public.

After this meeting, RDG will include final changes to the draft plan which will be presented to the Board of County Commissioners. Upon their approval to move forward, the plan will be advertised for consutruction bids.

Constraints on comments:

• Sign background, shape, and size will not change. The Casper MPO (Metropolitan Planning Organization) has adopted this design and the Wayfinding for the Mountain will follow this plan. Find more information here.

• Locations of signs have been thoroughly vetted by RDG, Parks and Road and Bridge for visibility, plowing, survivability, and safety. Unless the subcommittee can justify a significant change to location the signs will remain in their proposed locations.

• The number of signs will not be increased due to budget constraints. Over the last 6 months the number of signs has been decreased from 44 to 31.

Focus of comments:

• Review destinations on each sign for importance of destination.
• Review spelling and clarity to destination.
• Confirm destinations are appropriate.
• Confirm routing is correct to each destination.
