2 Killed In Roebuck Plaza Drive Shooting Identified
Birmingham police have taken a person of interest into custody.
BIRMINGHAM, AL — The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has identified two men shot and killed at a gas station in Birmingham over the weekend.
Joseph Demetrice Robinson, 25, and Rikki Dunri Christopher Bynum, 27, were shot and killed Saturday night at the Circle K gas station on Roebuck Plaza Drive, according to the Birmingham Police Department.
Another person, whose identity has not been released, was also injured. Police said his injuries were not life threatening.

When police responded to the scene, they said they found three men shot. Robinson and Bynum were pronounced dead at the scene.
"The preliminary investigation suggests the suspect fired upon the victims while they were in the parking lot," police said in a news release.

Thanks to a tip from the community, police found a person of interest several blocks away from the crime scene and placed them into custody.
Birmingham police have not identified a motive for the shooting.
