Here are the top three stories today in Birmingham:
- Check out this week's adoptable animals in the Birmingham area! Thousands of dogs, cats, and other animals of all ages, sizes, and breeds are without a home in Alabama. Consider adopting one of the available animals in the area, such as domestic longhair cat Maizy, or shepherd pup Chief. (Birmingham Patch)
- A driver left the scene of a crash near Tarrant Intermediate School just outside of Birmingham on Friday night. Officers with the Tarrant Police Department were called to the scene at around 10:30 p.m. and found a severely damaged vehicle that appeared to have lost control near the intersection, according to police. A billboard sign on school property had been destroyed in the crash, however, no injuries were reported. (WIAT - CBS42.com)
- Birmingham residents can get their Butterburger fix at a second Culver's location, now open in the area. The new restaurant is located a few miles outside of Birmingham at 6222 Tattersall Boulevard, near the intersection of Alabama 119 and U.S. 280, in Hoover. The new location marks the eighth Culver's restaurant in Alabama and offers favorites such as the pot roast sandwich, pork tenderloin sandwich, seafood sandwiches and platters, chicken sandwiches, salads, and soups, as well as frozen custards.
