Arrest Made In Gas Station Double Homicide: Birmingham Police

Antonio Shaw, 27, of Birmingham is accused of fatally shooting two people in the Circle K parking lot on Roebuck Plaza Drive.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — Birmingham police have arrested a man in connection with the double homicide that occurred over the weekend outside a local gas station.

Antonio Shaw, 27, of Birmingham has been charged with two counts of murder, two counts of attempted murder and one count of shooting into an occupied vehicle.

According to police, Shaw shot two men while they were in the parking lot of a Circle K at 232 Roebuck Plaza Dr. on Saturday night.

Joseph Demetrice Robinson, 25, of Birmingham and Rikki Dunri Christopher Bynum, 27, died as a result of the shooting. A third person was also injured; however, police said their injuries were not life threatening.

After the shooting, police said Shaw fled the area on foot.

A tipster was able to provide police with Shaw's description. As a result, officers said they were able to locate Shaw along the 9100 block of Parkway East — not to far from the shooting.

Shaw is currently behind bars at the Jefferson County jail.
