Here are the top three stories today in Birmingham:
- The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) and Birmingham-Southern College will host over 3,600 athletes in July for the 2022 World Games, an international multi-sport event. The 2022 event marks the 11th World Games and both schools encourage the public to ask about volunteer opportunities. (CBS42)
- The Birmingham-Shuttlesworth airport is seeing a positive rebound in travel and business nearly two years after pandemic shutdowns. The international airport, which is Alabama's largest airport, continues to increase passenger traffic by creating exceptional customer experiences. (WVTM13)
- A Birmingham resident may be on the newest season of "The Bachelorette." ABC announced via Facebook a group of more than 30 men who may be on the upcoming season and 27-year-old safety manager Corbin Shaw's photo was among them. The Birmingham resident drew more than 1,000 comments from the show's fans. (AL.com)
