Deadly Shooting Victim In West Birmingham Identified
Ogle Terrance Avery was shot in the parking lot of a Shell gas station in west Birmingham Tuesday night.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — The victim of a deadly shooting in west Birmingham Tuesday night has been identified. Police say 40-year-old Ogle Terrance Avery of Birmingham was shot in the parking lot of a Shell station at 800 3rd Avenue West.
The incident occurred around 8 p.m. Tuesday, and police say the shooting stemmed from an altercation between two men which escalated into a homicide.
Sgt. Rod Mauldin of the Birmingham Police Department said Avery attempted to flee from danger after the shooting and collapsed in the roadway.

Detectives have detained a person of interest for questioning in this investigation, but Mauldin said police believe others were involved.
