Here are the top three stories in Birmingham today:
- A local non-profit is battling higher gas prices while helping young children and expecting mothers get to their medical appointments. Kid One Transport has completed over 400,000 transports over the past few decades and is no stranger to the challenges of prices at the pump climbing. The Birmingham-based nonprofit says it is grateful for the donations it receives, as average trip costs have doubled in recent months. (WBRC)
- An internet company is bringing fiber internet to metro Birmingham. C-Spire crews are installing fiber cable from Meridian, Mississippi to metro Birmingham. Several rural West Alabama communities will benefit from this line, which is intended to bring high-speed internet. (Alabama's News Leader)
- Check out these new homes for sale in the Birmingham area. Fresh on the market is a three-bedroom, two-bathroom home, coming in at 1,353 sq. ft. If you're looking for a lot of land, a property with 20 acres has gone on the market in Bessemer. (Patch)
