Shooting Leaves Woman Seriously Injured In Jefferson County

The shooting happened Wednesday night at a home on Charles Avenue in Bessemer, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL — Jefferson County deputies are investigating a shooting that left a woman seriously injured.

Around 10:38 p.m. Wednesday, deputies went to a home in the 1300 block of Charles Avenue in Bessemer to investigate a report of a shooting.

After arriving to the location, deputies said they found a 52-year-old woman suffering from a gunshot wound.

Paramedics treated the woman at the scene and then transported her to the hospital, according to the sheriff's office.

Along with processing the scene for evidence, deputies said they are interviewing family members. The case remains under investigation.
