BIRMINGHAM, AL — Most of central and northern Alabama were rocked early this past week by a winter storm, which left roads impassable and closed schools — some for multiple days — while Alabamians struggled with the rare single-digit temperatures.

While Gov. Kay Ivey was declaring a state of emergency for the winter storm in the state, she also announced that the state is giving a reward for information leading to the arrest of those responsible for the shooting death of 2-year-old Major Turner in Birmingham.
