HOOVER, AL— Members of Jefferson County's Highway Safety Unit, comprised of officers and deputies from the <a href="https://www.hooverpd.com/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Hoover Police Department</a> and the <a href="https://jeffcosheriff.net/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Jefferson County Sheriff's Office</a>, respectively, discovered <a href="https://jeffcosheriff.net/uncategorized/117-pounds-of-marijuana-seized-on-i-22/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">117 pounds of marijuana</a> during a routine traffic stop around 10:30pm Monday night. Two cars speeding along I-22 were pulled over around mile marker 88 where officers conducted a vehicle search. The drivers were taken to the <a href="http://www.jccal.org/Default.asp?ID=307&amp;pg=County+Jail" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Jefferson County Jail </a>and given official charges of Trafficking Marijuana. Each vehicle contained two duffel bags full of marijuana in the trunk.
