Bucs Land 7 Players On ASWA All-State Team

Hoover High School was well-represented in the Alabama Sports Writers Association All-State Team for 2021.

HOOVER, AL — While Hoover High School did not win the state championship this season, the Bucs did spend much of the season ranked no. 1 in Class 7A by the Alabama Sports Writers Association, who also named seven Bucs players to the Class 7A All-State team this season.

The team is selected by the ASWA’s prep committee through coaches’ nominations sent to local sports writers.

The ASWA’s prep committee will name three finalists for back and lineman of the year in each of the seven AHSAA classifications and the AISA on Dec. 26.

That group will be honored at the annual Player of the Year banquet in Montgomery on Jan. 13 where the back and lineman of the year in each class will be announced as well as the state’s Mr. Football.
