  1. On Thursday, Mar. 23, Hoover police identified the three suspects who were responsible for a spate of car break-ins in the parking lot of The Halston Apartments. The three men are identified as Jayryn Omar Chaney, Jordan Latrell Smith, and Darrell DeWayne Jackson. The Jefferson County District Attorney's Office charged all suspects in four vehicle burglaries.   2. The Hoover City Schools Foundation officially announced their 2023 Denim & Dining fundraiser will take place on Friday, Ap. 28 at Aldridge Gardens from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The event includes a catered barbecue dinner by Jim N' Nick's Bar-B-Q, live music, dessert platters, silent auctions, and much more. It's the foundation's largest fundraiser of the year and all proceeds are used to fund various projects and grants for teachers in Hoover's school district. (Hoover Sun)
  3. The Addiction Prevention Coalition (APC) announced it will be hosting its 7th annual End Addiction BHAM Walk on Saturday, Apr. 1 at City Walk BHAM Amphitheater. The walk will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and will help raise awareness for those who struggle with substance abuse in communities across the state and beyond. Community members and surrounding areas will have the opportunity to remember those who have passed, give hope to those in active addiction, and celebrate loved ones who are recovering. (Hoover Sun)

  • The Hoover Fire Department celebrated Lieutenant Michael Norman who finished his final shift last week. He will be officially retiring on Saturday, Apr. 1 after a 27-year career in fire service and 24 years with Hoover FD. Michael spent the majority of his career at Fire Station #4 and plans to spend more time at the beach with his wife. (Hoover Fire Department)

  • The City of Hoover is extending a huge congratulations to Bud's Best Cookies for recently being selected as a recipient of the 2023 Governor's Trade Excellence Award.
