Here are the top three stories in Hoover today:

1. Stacker used 2023 rankings from Niche to compile a list of the 30 best public high schools in Alabama. The rankings are based on eight weighted factors, including academics, grades, culture and diversity, health and safety, clubs and activities, resources, and surveys of parents, teachers, and students. Nine North Alabama public high schools made the top 30 list, with Hoover High School ranking at 12th place. (WHNT News 19)
2. The Hoover City Schools Foundation (HCSF) will hold its annual Denim & Dining fundraiser this Friday, Apr. 28, at Aldridge Gardens to raise money to support Hoover City Schools through grants, scholarships, and innovative programs. The event will take place from 6-10 p.m. and is open to all. The HCSF is the only organization that supports all 17 schools in the Hoover City School System, benefiting over 13,000 students.
