Here are the top three stories in Hoover today:
- Two teenagers from Hoover are in critical condition after being struck by a train on Monday while on a bridge over the Cahaba River. One of the teens was thrown 30 yards down a hill, and a police officer was injured during the rescue attempt. The incident serves as a reminder of the dangers posed by train tracks and bridges, and parents are urged to be vigilant and educate their children about the risks involved. (WVTM13 Birmingham)
- On Wednesday, the City of Hoover announced the Riverchase Village development, a significant project spanning 90 acres near Riverchase Parkway. It will feature a health and wellness center, walking trails, housing, and retail areas, aiming to reimagine the region's potential. The centerpiece will be the Riverwalk Health & Wellness Center, offering a wide range of healthcare services. This transformative project is expected to elevate the quality of life in Hoover and stimulate commercial and residential investment in the area. (AL.com)
- The Hoover Police Department is actively seeking a suspect for questioning in connection with a case involving criminal possession of a forged instrument at a local financial institution. The individual allegedly used a fake ID to pass a forged check worth around $5,000, and additional charges may be forthcoming. If you have any information regarding this person, please contact Detective Davis at (205) 444-7624 or submit an anonymous tip through the Hoover Police Department's website.
