- A tragic accident on Interstate 65 in Hoover claimed the life of 36-year-old Ignacio Enrique Rios Montoya from Maylene, according to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office. The fatal incident, involving a 2019 Chevrolet Camaro and a 1970s Ford Maverick, occurred early Saturday morning and resulted in Montoya's vehicle becoming engulfed in flames, trapping him inside. Preliminary investigations suggest that the Maverick was either stationary or moving at a low speed when it was rear-ended by the Camaro, whose driver suffered minor injuries but did not require hospitalization. - The Hoover Police Department in Alabama is looking for two individuals linked to unsuccessful break-ins involving a vehicle and a storage trailer, along with the theft of a business's surveillance equipment. The stolen equipment's worth falls within the state's legal classification for third-degree property theft, a crime that carries a potential five-year sentence.
