Man Accused Of Setting Hoover House Fire That Killed Dog: Cops

Police are looking for a man seen on surveillance camera pouring a liquid onto the home's patio.

HOOVER, AL — Police are looking for a man suspected of intentionally starting a fire at Hoover home that left a dog dead.

The fire broke out on Wednesday afternoon in the 5400 block of Scout Trace Lane. According to police, the residents were not home at the time of the fire but their dog was killed in the blaze.

While the investigation is ongoing, police have determined that the fire was intentionally set.

Surveillance video shows a man on the home's back patio wearing a backpack sprayer and pouring liquid accelerant from a green container.
