Good morning, Hoover! I'm back in your inbox this morning with your fresh edition of the Hoover Patch newsletter, fresh off the presses. Keep reading for everything you need to know about what's going on these days in town. Today we'll cover these three stories and more.

Also, FYI: I wanted to let you know that Patch is looking for a local writer and entrepreneur to take the helm of the Hoover Patch newsletter and make it their own. We want to pass the torch to someone truly local and in-the-know to write about Hoover long term. Here are the top stories today in Hoover:

  1. Pell City finally found their replacement for hall-of-fame coach Steve Mask with former Hoover and Valdosta coach Rush Propst. The proposition of coach Propst was invited with open arms as superintendent James Martin said the vote across the board was unanimous. Pell City is currently on Spring break, but he will likely take his position on Apr. 10. (AL.com)
  2. A new dental work spot has opened in Hoover. Affordable Dentures & Implants has officially opened on 5239 Hwy. 280. The location is in network with Affordable Care and provides services from implants to extractions. (Benzinga)
  3. The Alabama Bandmasters Hall of Fame will be adding another icon to their hall of fame with Harry McAfee. McAfee served as the Hoover band director from 2001-2010 but has served in many different schools throughout his career and has been successful in every role. He has left his imprint on the music world and the community between directing, judging, and even part-time teaching. His induction will be on Apr. 28 at the Alabama Bandmasters Association All-State Festival in Huntsville. (Hoover Sun)
