Here are the top three stories today in Hoover:
- Looking for a wholesale grocery in Hoover? You might be in luck in the near future. According to the Hoover Zoning Board, requests have been filed from a wholesaler to open a business at 5300 Valleydale Road. As of Friday afternoon, no filings have been made in regard to sales of gasoline on-site, but much of the controversy surrounding a potential business opening involves the potential sale of gas or liquor. (The Business Journals)
- More than 80 high school baseball teams converged at the Hoover Met for the Perfect Game Showdown. The event, organized by Perfect Game USA, kicked off on Thursday and continues through Sunday. At least 86 high school boys' baseball teams will compete in front of college and major league scouts. (Hoover Sun)
- Both the girls and boys basketball teams successfully won a bid to their respective state championship games. Hoover's girls' basketball team overwhelmed Prattville 87-39. The boys' team was a lower-scoring affair, but they edged Dothan 53-41. To see the state championship matchups and stats for the games, click the link. (Alabama's News Leader)
