Here are the top three stories in Huntsville today:

  1. As the temperature outside begins to cool off, it's time to head outdoors for the return of Citywide Boot Camps. These free workouts are led by instructors from Burn Boot Camp. The first workout will take place today, Sep. 9, at Hayes Farm. The farm has a full day of fitness activities scheduled, including a community fun run and bike ride that will begin at 8:00 a.m. The Citywide Boot Camp will begin at 9:15 a.m., then afterward, attendees can browse vendors, food trucks, and more. Upcoming Citywide Boot Camps will take place on the first Saturdays of October, November, and December. (WAAY)
  2. Huntsville Mayor Tommy Battle recently announced that the theme for the upcoming ninth annual Huntsville Christmas Parade will be "Christmas Through the Decades." This event is scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 5 with the parade set to start near the post office on Clinton Avenue at 6:00 p.m. The parade will include over 80 floats, exhibits, and marching bands with elements that recall holiday traditions from years past. Registration for the parade is open through Oct. 13. (Rocket City Now)
  3. Do you have a favorite Huntsville restaurant? Event Magazine and the Huntsville Business Journal want to hear about it! Voting is now open for the Best of Huntsville 2023 awards, and categories cover arts, entertainment, businesses, and food and drinks. Voting will remain open until Sep. 30, and winners will be included in both publications. (Huntsville Business Journal)
