Huntsville Hospital Foundation announces headliner for Huntsville Classic (waff.com) — Huntsville residents can look forward to Rob Thomas headlining the 37th annual Huntsville Classic at the Orion Amphitheater on May 9, 2026, benefiting local Huntsville-area hospitals. Proceeds will support grief counseling for children, Madison Hospital’s ER expansion, and new heart imaging equipment, with local band Junctional Rhythm opening the show and tickets going on sale Dec. 19.

Huntsville Police ask for public's help in search for missing teen (whnt.com) — Huntsville Police are asking residents to help locate 16-year-old Brayden Ray Johnson, who left a home on Old Fairway Road early Sunday and didn’t return. Investigators think he may have gone back toward the Hanceville area and are urging anyone with information to call Investigator Hall at the listed number.

Road to Wellness: City transit connects residents seeking mental health care (huntsvilleal.gov) — Huntsville’s public transit department is partnering with WellStone to provide up to 10,000 annual rides so residents can reliably reach mental health treatment on South Memorial Parkway. Using Orbit buses and Access paratransit, clients receive pre-arranged tickets for round-trip transportation, with dedicated operators assigned to the program. City officials say the service removes a major barrier to ongoing care.

Community Foundation of Greater Huntsville surpasses $100M in local grants (waff.com) — Huntsville’s own Community Foundation of Greater Huntsville has now surpassed $100 million in grants, with most of that money staying in North Alabama communities. Leaders say more than 78% of funds support local nonprofits from Limestone to Jackson counties, and they’re encouraging residents to keep giving during one of the busiest charitable seasons of the year.

North Huntsville nightlife venues band together to enhance safety (rocketcitynow.com) — North Huntsville bar and restaurant owners are teaming up on a new ID-scanning security network that flags people banned for disruptive behavior across 18 participating venues. Organizers say the North Huntsville Connect system is meant to boost safety for staff and patrons while encouraging cooperation instead of competition among nightlife spots in the area.
