Here are the top three stories today in Huntsville:

  1. Huntsville’s Parking and Public Transportation Department has announced changes are coming to the Orbit bus system schedule. The department's director, Quisha Bryant, said that routes one, two, and four will be updated to help improve performance and service times. The new schedule will be unveiled next month on the department's website. (AL.com)
  2. Huntsville Mayor Tommy Battle is set to present the annual State of the City address on Tuesday, Sep. 26. He will deliver his remarks at a luncheon hosted by the Huntsville-Madison County Chamber of Commerce. The mayor will give updates on the city's economy, quality of life, and goals. The event will be broadcast at noon on HSV TV and will be live-streamed on the city's website. (HuntsvilleAL.gov)
  3. The Downtown Rescue Mission is running low on food, and they are asking the public to help refill their shelves. The organization is seeking donations of canned food items such as soup and vegetables, as well as non-perishable food items like peanut butter, rice, boxed mashed potatoes, and boxed macaroni and cheese. An official Downtown Rescue Mission said that food donation barrels are available to drop off at any business that would like to collect donations. (WAFF)
