Here are the top three stories today in Mobile:

  1. Habitat for Humanity of Southwest Alabama has built more than 325 homes across numerous counties since its founding in 1988. Across Mobile, Washington, and Clarke counties, the international faith-based nonprofit organization has built and renovated houses for low-income neighbors. The organization welcomes volunteers; sign up as an individual or group for half-day (7:45 a.m. to 12 p.m.) or full-day (7:45 a.m. to 3 p.m.) shifts from Tuesday through Saturday, no experience necessary. Call 251.476.7171, ext. 229, or email sking@habitatswal to volunteer. (Fox 10 News)
  2. A bridal expo will be coming to Mobile next month. The Brides Just Wanna Have Fun Bridal Expo will feature prizes and a fashion show to help brides discover the latest wedding trends and prepare for the big day. The expo will take place at the Mobile Convention Center on Mar. 19; admission is $20 for VIP and $10 for general admission. For more information about the event, email Bridesjustwannahavefun@gmail.com. (Fox 10 News)
  3. Over the weekend, 357k gallons of sewage overflowed in the nearby City of Prichard. The city only saw three inches of rain, but it was enough to overflow an amount of sewage that was equal to half of an Olympic-sized swimming pool. The Mobile County Health Department has warned residents to thoroughly cook seafood harvested in the area and take precautions near standing water. (NBC 15 WPMI)
