Graduates shared how they pushed through tough semesters, tech headaches, and personal hardships, including one student whose mom survived breast cancer and lived to see her walk. Their advice to current Jags: work hard, study, and build lasting connections.
   

2. Here's the cost breakdown of new $2.8 million annual rent rate for city at Gov. Plaza (mynbc15.com) — Mobile’s rent for office space at Government Plaza has jumped 89%, pushing the city’s annual bill above $2.8 million and prompting leaders to consider moving. County documents show utilities, insurance, and court security make up the largest costs, while the city has paid past-due rent but not yet agreed to the new five-year lease terms.

Judge denies bond for Partridge Street drive-by shooting suspect under Aniah's Law (wkrg.com) — A Mobile judge has denied bond under Aniah’s Law for an 18-year-old suspect in a Partridge Street drive-by shooting that killed a mother and injured a teen. Prosecutors and an MPD detective detailed gang-related tensions and evidence tying the defendant to the shooting, as local officials say they’re increasingly using Aniah’s Law to hold dangerous suspects without bond.
   

4. Five separate shootings reported in Mobile over the weekend, two people killed (wkrg.com) — Mobile police are investigating five separate weekend shootings across the city, including two homicides on Ann Street and Old Shell Road that left men dead. Other shootings were reported near Providence Hospital, a West I-65 motel, and Stuardi Court, with authorities still working to clarify what happened at each scene. 5. Alabama issues $730 million in bonds for west Alabama corridor expansion (cbs42.com) — State leaders have approved $730 million in bonds to finish a four-lane highway corridor linking Mobile to Tuscaloosa, a move expected to boost traffic flow and economic growth across west Alabama.
