2. High School Boys Basketball matchup between Park Crossing and JAG (montgomeryadvertiser.com) — A packed high school boys basketball showdown between JAG and Park Crossing unfolded Tuesday night on the JAG campus in Montgomery, with JAG’s Messiah Boswell hitting the game-winner. Photo highlights capture big rebounds, clutch shots, and intense defense from both teams, giving local fans a courtside look at one of the city’s most competitive matchups.

3. Expiring healthcare tax credits raise concerns about hospital wait times (wsfa.com) — Enhanced Affordable Care Act tax credits are set to expire Dec. 31, and Alabama hospital leaders in Montgomery warn this could push more uninsured patients into emergency rooms, lengthening wait times. With Congress gone until early January, local hospitals are bracing for added strain on staff and resources as more residents may drop coverage due to higher premiums.

4. Northeast State theater students earn regional nominations (timesnews.net) — A major regional college theater festival is coming to Montgomery Feb. 3–7, 2026, bringing award-nominated productions and workshops from across the Southeast. Northeast State Community College students are among those headed here, recognized for acting, design, and stage management work. The gathering should draw young artists, faculty, and visitors into the city’s theaters, hotels, and restaurants.
