Bottoms Up Diaper Bank Launches Ambitious “41 for 9” Campaign to Collect 41,000 Diapers

Eutaw & Tuscaloosa, AL – Jan. 1, 2025 – Bottoms Up Diaper Bank is proud to announce the launch of the “41 for 9” campaign, an ambitious initiative to collect 41,000 diapers to support families in need. This campaign celebrates two remarkable milestones: the 41st birthday of the organization’s founder, Danielle Edison Lee and the 9th anniversary of Bottoms Up Diaper Bank’s commitment to addressing diaper need in the community. The campaign also serves as a lead-up to the nonprofit’s 10th anniversary next year.

“We’re combining two personal and organizational milestones into a single impactful mission,” said Danielle Edison Lee, Founder of Bottoms Up Diaper Bank. “With diaper need affecting 1 in 2 families, it’s critical for us to step up and provide support to ensure no child goes without this basic necessity.”

Diaper Need

Diaper need is a widespread yet often overlooked issue. According to the National Diaper Bank Network’s recent Diaper Check study, 50% of U.S. families struggle to afford enough diapers for their children. Without diapers, families face difficult choices—such as cutting back on food or childcare—and babies risk health complications from wearing soiled diapers for extended periods. Moreover, government assistance programs like SNAP and WIC do not cover diapers, leaving families without a safety net.

Celebrating a Decade of Impact

The “41 for 9” campaign sets the stage for Bottoms Up Diaper Bank’s 10th anniversary in 2026. Since its founding, the organization has distributed over 200,000 diapers to West Alabama families in need, creating a lasting impact in the lives of countless children.

“This campaign is more than just a celebration. It’s a call to action for our entire community to join us in making a difference,” Danielle E. Lee said. “Together, we can ensure that families have the resources they need to thrive.”
