LAKE VIEW, AL — A man has been charged with second-degree assault after an alleged stabbing over the weekend at the Lake View Club.

Captain Jack Kennedy, commander of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, told local media on Monday that Lakeview Police and deputies with the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office responded Saturday around midnight to the country club on a report of a stabbing.

Kennedy said two men were involved in a physical altercation in the parking lot, resulting in one subject being stabbed numerous times and transported to the hospital.
Kennedy then said the victim's injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.

After being requested to assist in the case, the Violent Crimes Unit charged Edward Williams, 57, with one count of second-degree assault.
He was booked into the Tuscaloosa County Jail and is awaiting his bond to be set.
