TIF is Connecting Cultures & Creating Friendships
Join Tuscaloosa International Friends to connect with international students, share cultural experiences, and build lasting friendships.

Tuscaloosa International Friends (TIF) is inviting you to join its efforts in fostering cross-cultural friendships between Tuscaloosa area residents and international college students. Through its friendship program, local friends and families are matched with international students to foster cultural exchange and build personal connections, providing students with a welcoming community and locals the opportunity to learn about global cultures. Thre are students from over 50 different countries studying as both undergraduates and graduates. They include singles, couples, and even families with children. You don’t need to speak a foreign language, and the students don't live with you. It’s all about being a friend and making connections.
Since its inception in 1974, TIF has played a vital role in making Tuscaloosa a welcoming place for international students, helping them feel at home while also enriching the lives of Tuscaloosa locals through meaningful cultural exchange.
In addition to their friendship matching program, TIF organizes four key events every year to bring people together: the Fall Kickoff, Pumpkin Carving, Valentine's Banquet, and Spring Picnic. These gatherings make it easy to meet international students and help friendships to form naturally through shared experiences.
