Tornado Watch Issued For Tuscaloosa County Until 6 P.M.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The National Weather Service has placed Tuscaloosa County under a tornado watch until 6 p.m. Tuesday as storms move across the Tuscaloosa Patch coverage area.

The watch covers 19 counties across the region, including Tuscaloosa, Bibb, Hale, Greene, Sumter, Perry and Jefferson counties. The watch also includes Chilton, Dallas, Lowndes, Montgomery, Talladega, Tallapoosa, Clay, Coosa, Elmore, Marengo and Shelby counties.

NWS forecasters said conditions are favorable for the development of tornadoes, large hail and damaging winds.

Cities listed in the watch area include Tuscaloosa, Northport, Moundville, Eutaw, Livingston, Greensboro, the University of Alabama and others in the western and central part of the state.
