Tuscaloosa County Man Accused Of Shooting Wife On Old Marion Road

A Tuscaloosa County man was arrested last week after authorities say he shot his wife during an argument at a home on Old Marion Road.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — A Tuscaloosa County man was arrested last week after authorities say he shot his wife during an argument at a home on Old Marion Road.

Captain Jack Kennedy, commander of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, said Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s deputies responded at about 11:45 p.m. Nov. 25 to the 8800 block of Old Marion Road, where they found a 43-year-old woman suffering from serious gunshot wounds.

Kennedy said deputies detained the woman’s husband, Joseph Bradly Mullins, at the scene, before mentioning that a child in the home witnessed an argument between the couple that preceded the shooting.

After interviews with witnesses, Mullins was arrested and charged with one count of attempted murder.

He was then booked at the Tuscaloosa County Jail without bond under Aniyah’s Law, which allows judges to deny bond for certain violent offenses.

Kennedy said that while the victim sustained serious injuries, she is expected to survive.

The case remains under investigation.
