1 Man Is Dead In 8-Vehicle Collision

PHOENIX, AZ — One man is dead after an eight-vehicle collision near the intersection of Central Avenue and Camelback Road Sunday evening.

Jesus Padilla, 35, was taken to a local hospital in extremely critical condition and was later pronounced dead, Phoenix police said in a news release.

One more man and two women were also taken to a local hospital following the crash, police said.

Police suspected that a driver was impaired at the time of the collision and ran a red light.

Seven of the drivers involved in the collision did not show signs of impairment, police said.
