  1. Restaurant workers at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport went on strike to protest what they called severe understaffing. Workers for HMS Host, one of two companies that provides staffing for airport restaurants, walked off the job early Wednesday morning. The workers, part of the UNITE Here hospitality union, pushed for the hiring of more workers and better working conditions. (AZ Central)
  2. Morning Squeeze is expanding to downtown Phoenix with an opening date set for Friday. The eatery, which offers fresh breakfast and lunch options, already has locations in both Tempe and Scottsdale. Morning Squeeze specializes in breakfast classics alongside modern brunch dishes.   3. New "cool pavement" technology being tested in Phoenix keeps street temperatures much cooler than traditional pavement, but so far doesn't seem to cool the air nearly as much as the ground. That could be due to small testing areas and the mixing of air from cool pavement areas and areas with traditional pavement. (FOX 10 News Phoenix)
  4. Jimmy Buffett’s Broadway musical “Escape to Margaritaville” premieres in Phoenix this week at the Madison Center for the Arts. The show features Buffet classics alongside new tunes written specifically for Broadway. (KTAR.com)
  5. Phoenix Artist Hank Keneally says he's the "world’s greatest dumpster photographer," but he also might be the only one. His mixed media series called "Wallescapes" has been showcased in Phoenix and San Francisco. (Phoenix New Times)

Two weeks ago, six AHS employees met a team from the Louisiana SPCA in El Paso, Texas to transfer 26 dogs and 14 cats to Arizona. Those pets were previously up for adoption in Louisiana but when that shelter’s power went out, they were in need of immediate help. Paw Paw is just one of 40 pets who was given as second chance at a new life after this natural disaster, and we are so thrilled that he was adopted so quickly!
